All participants will compete within the following protocols:
Pool Crossing - swim accross a pool (with or without a life jacket).
Bleep Test - 20m cross running.
Infantry Surprise - running event with obstacles.
Illinois Agility Test - Illinois Agility Test running.
Sit-Ups & Push-Ups. Sit-ups and Push-ups within 2 minutes each.
4Km Walk - 4km Walk in accordance with walking rules.
2.4km Run - 2.4km Running event.
Endurance Walk/Run. 15-20km Run with big bag and sand bag (within the big bag).
As seen FUN RUN and BACKWARDS/SIDEWAYS running has been removed as it is no longer protocols with the SANDF competition.
Pool Crossing - 5 minutes allowed to cross swimming pool. You must start outside the swimming pool.
Bleep Test - Not allowed to cross lanes. Must not leave lane before Bleep is sounded and must cross lane before next bleep is sounded.
Surprise - must cross the obstacles, if not time penalty will be awarded.
Illinois Agility Test - Subjects should lie on their front (head to the start line) and hands by their shoulders. On the 'Go' command the stopwatch is started, and the athlete gets up as quickly as possible and runs around the course in the direction indicated, without knocking the cones over, to the finish line, at which the timing is stopped. Penalties are awarded; 1 second added for every cone that you knock over.
Sit-Ups & Push-Ups. Must execute exercise according to military standards - rest on top.
4Km Walk - Must not wear full tracksuit pants (knees must be visible). Must have one foot grounded - severe penalties will be added (time) should you run - no warnings.
Endurance Walk/Run. Sand Bag will be weight before and afterwards - penalty will be awarded should the weight differ.
